Daniel has extensive experience leading high-profile projects from conceptional design & entitlement and through construction within the City of Austin and other jurisdictions throughout Central Texas. His practice is primarily within the urban infill market. He also focuses on site selection, feasibility, and due diligence analysis of sites under consideration.

Building on his wealth of knowledge of the Austin Land Development market that he gained over the past twelve (12) years, Daniel started the Engineering Firm, Mahoney Engineering in the Summer of 2019.  Through his strong relationships throughout Austin, Daniel puts his client’s best interest.

Daniel grew up in Richardson and Highland Park, Texas and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi State University in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2007 and became a licensed engineer in the State of Texas in 2012. After graduating, Daniel moved to Austin to pursue his career in Site Civil Engineering with Bury + Partners which later rebranded to Bury and then was acquired by Stantec Consulting Services in 2016. During that period, he also worked and was mentored by late Bruce Aupperle with Aupperle Company, who specialized in Lake Austin boat dock and shoreline modification development projects.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys running in the greenbelt, coaching for South Austin Baseball, attending church at the Austin Stone and spending time with his wife, Annie and three sons, Murray, Anderson and Mack and his dog, Ables.
