A public infrastructure project covering design, permitting, subsurface constraints, and construction. The project includes a lift station sized at roughly 1,000 GPF capacity, a public water main extension of about 3,000 linear feet, 200 feet of private water line, and a 1,700-foot force main. Routing crosses multiple private properties and easements and involves wetlands and floodplain work. This utility infrastructure project required extensive coordination with existing transportation, utility, and environmental features, including highway crossings, culverts, bored utility segments, a high-pressure gas line, floodplain and erosion hazard areas, and wetlands. Mahoney Engineering designed and coordinated a public lift station, approximately 3,000 linear feet of waterline extension, and approximately 1,700 linear feet of force main while managing permitting across multiple agencies and leading the public cost participation process. Through detailed planning, utility coordination, and innovative trenchless crossing solutions, the team secured city council approval and significant cost reimbursement for the client, minimized construction conflicts, and successfully advanced the waterline improvements through testing and closeout with no major design-related issues.
