Mahoney Engineering provided civil engineering and entitlement services for the AC Hotel by Marriott, a five-story, 133-room hotel with a cocktail lounge located along East 7th Street in East Austin. Situated on a constrained urban infill site of approximately 0.525 acres, the project required extensive public wastewater improvements, including approximately 330 linear feet of wastewater replacement in the alley and approximately 170 linear feet of new wastewater main to serve the hotel, all within a dense network of existing utilities near Huston-Tillotson University and neighborhood landmarks.

Mahoney Engineering led the design of critical water and utility improvements, coordinated with utility providers to resolve infrastructure constraints within the corridor, and supported the TOD amendment and entitlement process, coordinating with multiple stakeholders across the shared infrastructure system. Through that work, the project advanced through site plan approval, clearing the way for construction of a premier hospitality destination in East Aust
